Glo Friends was a show that played in the 80s during "My Little Pony and Friends" along with "Potato Head Kids." It was shown on the Disney Channel in the mornings.
It was
about little bugs that glowed in the dark and collected Moon Drops. The Moon
Drops helped them glow and they fell from the earth a night. They kept
the moon drops in a reservoir. In the 80s, almost every kid slept with a Glo
Worm. Those ones looked a bit different from the ones on the cartoon show. They
were a little longer and such. When you squeeze it, it's head would light up,
so it was perfect when you were afraid of the dark.
The bad guys on Glo Friends were the Moleigans. They were a pack of mole-like creatures that tried to capture the Glo Friends and use them as glow-in-the-dark slaves to dig in their caves for gold. The Moleigans would also try to get the Moon Drops to help light their caverns. The Leader of the Moleigans was called Starnose. They also had a bird named Rook.
The Glo Friends weren't all bugs. They also had some friends like Bully Frog, Country Mouse, and Dipper Duck. some of the Glo Friends like Glo Butterfly and Dragonflyer could fly in the air. Sometimes the others would ride ontop of Dragonflyer like on the one picture below. All in all, the Glo Friends all tried to live in harmony and keep away from the Moleigans. In a way, the cartoon was similar to "The Smurfs"
